In these difficult times the country is facing, EDP and CTG, in coordination with the Ministry of Health and with the support of the Portuguese Embassy in Beijing, have invested about €4 million in 50 ventilators, 200 medical monitors, and related equipment.

This medical equipment – which has already been approved by the Ministry of Health – may prove decisive for critical COVID-19 patients, especially at a time when global supply seems insufficient to cover the high demand. The ventilators and monitors will be available for transport on March 27 and are expected to arrive in Portugal by the end of the month, after which they will be delivered to the Ministry of Health.

With these initiatives, EDP and CTG are joining the collective efforts of medical teams fighting the pandemic on the ground. Besides these initiatives, EDP has about two thousand people in dispatch and production centers to make sure that energy reaches all Portuguese homes.
