EDP Renewables celebrates Global Wind Day at the Corbera Wind Farm in

Madrid, 15 June 2017: EDP Renewables (EDP Renewables, Euronext: EDPR), a global leader in the renewable energy sector and the world’s fourth-largest wind energy producer, held an open day today at the Corbera Wind Farm in Corbera d’Ebre, in the province of Tarragona, to celebrate Global Wind Day.

Representatives from various authorities were present at the festivities, including Gandesa Mayor Carles Luz Muñoz and Álvarez Gironés, Mayor of Corbera d’Ebre.

Local schoolchildren and families took part in various activities over the course of the day aimed at explaining the benefits of wind energy. The children participated in a drawing contest and had fun flying kites. A magician put on a show that revolved around the idea of wind and everybody enjoyed the theatre performance.

As regards the event, João Paulo Costeira, CEO of EDP Renewables Europe, stated: “The goal of Global Wind Day is to convey the benefits of this clean and efficient way of energy production. These types of events allows the public to learn about our activity first hand in an educational and entertaining way”.
