EDPR secures a 15-year PPA for a 297 MW wind project in Canada

Madrid, September 20^th 2021: EDP Renováveis, S.A. (“EDPR”) has secured a 15-year Power Purchase Agreement (“PPA”) with TransCanada Energy Ltd. (“TC Energy”) to sell the green energy produced by the 297 MW Sharp Hills wind farm in Canada, avoiding estimated annual emissions of approximately 700 thousand tons of CO₂.

The Sharp Hills wind farm is located in Alberta and is expected to enter in operation in 2023.
 
With this new agreement, EDPR has now 0.4 GW of capacity secured in Canada set to enter in operation from 2021 onwards.
